Non-traded Market RiskNon-Traded Market Risk provides risk advisory and risk oversight for all our non-traded market risks. These include risks arising in the Treasury area, retail and corporate banking divisions and wealth management - with a combined balance sheet of some £150bn. We also look after the risks associated with the Group's pension funds. Joining us as a Risk Analyst, you'll have the chance to learn all about Abbey's products and businesses, and the financial and other risks that they bring to our business. Learning opportunitiesOver two-to-three years, you'll benefit from flexible and tailored on-the-job training through rotations within the team. In-house training will give you a broad understanding of market risk management techniques and the chance to learn through hands-on practice. That means developing an understanding of the measures used to quantify risk exposures, producing risk analysis reports to support senior management, providing assistance on projects to enhance our risk framework, maintaining control systems and procedures, recommending improvements, investigating problems and collaborating across the business to resolve issues. QualificationsYou'll need the strong quantitative skills to produce high quality analysis - gained either from work experience or a Maths, Statistics or other quantitative degree. What we're looking forArticulate on technical issues, you'll produce high quality analysis. A strong communicator, solid decision-maker and good team player, you'll have the confidence to use your own judgement and the initiative to develop your own network across the business. You'll also have a keen interest in financial markets and the drive to make the most of the exceptional career opportunities we offer. The futureAs you build your skills base, you'll specialise more to deepen your knowledge in a particular risk or business area. You'll begin to take more of a lead role in projects and be expected to initiate work that leads to development and improvement of the risk framework. So after two-to-three years, you should have career opportunities across Abbey and the wider Santander Group. |
