Internal Audit
The Internal Audit scheme offers structured career progression through a nine-month development programme. You'll gain a broad overview of the banking business through a range of audits across Abbey and short placements within key parts of the bank.
Learning opportunities
We'll give you support to study for a professional qualification (ACCA or CISA). We'll also have the flexibility to tailor our development programme to suit your needs and a mentor to help you make those decisions. Modules include: Corporate Induction; Induction into Audit (including work shadow); Work placements in the Branch Network, Risk Division (Market Risk and Credit Risk), Compliance and Governance and Control; Work experience with different audit teams; Technical Training - Audit Methodology, Quality, Regulation.
Qualifications
A relevant degree is useful but not essential, although you will need to be educated to a level to allow registration with ACCA or ISACA.
What we're looking for
It's essential that you demonstrate an understanding of the financial services industry and an interest in pursuing a career within audit. We're looking for proactive, open-minded people with the business acumen, professionalism, confidence and communication skills to build relationships at all levels within the Abbey family. An excellent problem-solver, you'll be computer literate with knowledge of Excel and Word.
The future
Ideally, by the end of your first year, you will have progressed to Junior Auditor. Then with our support and your hard work there's no saying where your career could take you.
